Norm A. Hagman, MD

I am Originally from Indiana and attended Indiana University where I received my B.A. degree in anatomy and physiology, graduating with honors in 1955. I was elected to membership in Phi Beta Kappa.
I continued my medical studies at Indiana University Medical School where I received my medical degree (MD) in 1958, and was elected to Alpha Omega Alpha Scholastic Honor Society. My orthopedic residency was completed at Indiana University in 1963. I subsequently served for two years as an orthopedic surgeon and captain in the United States Army Medical Corps.
I came to Rockford in 1965 and became certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery shortly thereafter. I co-founded Rockford Orthopedic Associates in 1967.
I am a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, as well as other professional organizations and societies. I have served as president of the Winnebago County Health System Medical Staff. I remain active in continuing education and have served as a Clinical Associate Professor and an Orthopedic Clinical Coordinator at the University of Illinois College of Medicine in Rockford. I currently serve on the Surgical Executive Committee and the Faculty Promotion Committee there as well.
When not practicing orthopedics, I enjoy spending time with my eight grandchildren, downhill skiing, motorcycling, and hiking.
